Care and Maintenance
Outdoor furniture
Furniture Use and Type
Sitting furniture is designed for sitting and dining, therefore do not load it in any other way, such as by placing unsuitable objects, climbing or kneeling on it, or rocking etc., which might cause damage to the product and potential personal injury.
All screws and bolts should be retightened after the first sixty days of use of the furniture. Subsequent regular tightness checks and retightening will result in extended life and the overall durability of the furniture. Increased clearance in the joints may cause excessive strain on furniture parts and may result in the damage of furniture. Rocking of sitting furniture not exceeding 2 mm is not considered a defect; it will be compensated by sitting on the piece.
Furniture Use and Treatment
Outdoor furniture requires minimum treatment and maintenance. Use warm water and common soap detergents to remove normal staining. In order to ensure long-term use of the wooden outdoor furniture, perform its surface treatment and subsequent regular maintenance. We recommend using thin- to medium-layer glazing paint that penetrates deeply through the wood and preserves its natural appearance and structure. Observe the label instructions for use of the agent. Apply the first coating before you start using the furniture and further protective coatings after the surface of the furniture gets dull and raindrops stop remaining on the surface and start to penetrate the wood. In terms of protection against UV radiation we do not recommend using clear glazing paint. The darker shade of the glazing paint the better protection against UV radiation is provided.
In the open we recommend protecting the furniture, especially the upholstered cushions, against long-term rain. After the season clean and dry the furniture and store it covered with a blanket in a sheltered unheated place.
Note
Changes in texture, minor colour deviations, greying, micro-cracks and natural growth defects are not faults; on the contrary, these bring out the genuine nature of the wood. As a result of exposure to direct sunlight, the colour shade of wooden parts, covering fabrics, plastic, metal as well as cane parts of the product changes.
At the end of the furniture's service life, handle it as waste, i.e. transfer the waste to an authorised person who will ensure its ecologically compatible disposal.
Please, make sure to observe the guidelines and recommendations enclosed in these instructions; the manufacturer does not take any responsibility for potential damage to the product resulting from unauthorised use and unprofessional handling of the furniture.
