Interior: Sitting Furniture and Accessories

Furniture Use and Type

Sitting furniture is designed for sitting in the interior and other use, like placing of unsuitable objects, climbing on, kneeling, rocking (except for rocking chairs), or the use in the exterior, might result in the damage of furniture with potential injuries.

The furniture is designed for interiors with relative air humidity ranging from 25 to 65 % at 18 to 24 degrees Centigrade. The relative humidity of the environment below 25 % and over 65 % at normal room temperature has negative effects on the furniture and may result in shape distortion of wooden parts.

Rocking of sitting furniture not exceeding 2 mm is not considered a defect, because it will be compensated by sitting on the piece. Swivel chairs with a metal screw (applies to types 503, 523, 505) are adjustable in height, ranging from 47 to 61 cm. Turning of the screw beyond the specified height limit might result in injury. Lubricate the metal screw with silicone oil as necessary.

Furniture Use and Treatment

General Parts
Do not expose the furniture to water, excessive heat and direct sunlight. As a result of exposure to direct sunlight, the colour shade of wooden parts, fabrics, plastic as well as cane parts of the product changes. Sharp objects, like hard seams, rivets on trousers, pet claws etc. might damage wooden, fabric as well as cane parts.

All screws and bolts should be retightened after the first sixty days of use of the furniture. Subsequent regular tightness checks and retightening will result in extended life and the overall durability of the furniture.

Wooden Parts
Cane
Natural materials need special attention. The cane work should be dampened on both sides on a regular basis in order to preserve its elasticity - this is especially important in dry or air-conditioned rooms. Sustained dryness makes the natural material brittle and prone to cracking. Soiled spots can be cleaned with a damp cloth and soft soap. If filaments come off, they can be reattached with glue. Strong concentrated stress to the cane work should be absolutely avoided.

Dust the wooden parts with a soft, clean and dry cloth. Use a cleaning detergent designed for furniture with all kinds of lacquered finish in the case of more extensive staining. Strictly adhere to the label instructions for use of the purchased detergent.

Changes in texture, minor colour deviations and natural growth defects are not faults; on the contrary, these bring out the genuine nature of the wood. Colour deviations of wooden parts are caused by the differing ability of the wood to absorb the finishing material.

Upholstered Parts
Fabrics and Eco-Leather
You can increase the useful life of covering fabric by regular treatment and cleaning. Remove dust with a fine brush or vacuum cleaner. Larger stains should be removed by shampooing with foam, which should not come into contact with the wooden parts of the product. Proceed carefully to prevent the cleaning solution from penetrating and soaking into the fabric. Proceed with shampooing in compliance with the instruction for use by the manufacturer of the detergent. Never use the agents containing benzene and other solvents. We recommend cleaning stains on all covering fabrics before they get dry; you can improve cleaning efficiency. Never rub the stains; drain them with a clean cloth.

Eco-leather may only be cleaned using lukewarm water and common soap agents. Take care to prevent the water to come into contact with the wooden parts of the product. Folding and spreading of fabric and Eco-leather, especially on the sitting part is natural, not a defect.

Natural Leather
Use only special leather cleaning agents for treatment and cleaning. Observe the instructions specified by the manufacturer. Protect the furniture upholstered with natural leather from water, excessive radiant heat, direct sunlight and mechanical damage. Folding and spreading of the leather, especially on the sitting part, is natural, not a defect. Uneven surface structure, minor scars, abrasions and minor variances in shade are not faults, on the contrary, these are the typical features of this natural material.

Other Parts of the Furniture
Remove dust from the cane parts with a vacuum cleaner and damp cloth. Clean the metal and plastic parts of the furniture with water containing detergents; dry immediately and shine with soft cloth. In the case of more extensive staining use a cleaning detergent designed for metal or plastic. Strictly adhere to the label instructions for use of the purchased detergent.

Note
At the end of the furniture's service life, handle it as waste, i.e. transfer the waste to an authorised person who will ensure its ecologically compatible disposal.

Please, make sure to observe the guidelines and recommendations enclosed in these instructions; the manufacturer does not take any responsibility for potential damage to the product resulting from unauthorised use and unprofessional handling of the furniture.
